Who would have thought that in 2006, a world-famous Canadian-American architect would launch a jewelry collection for a world-famous jeweler? Who knows, but it happened, and it was glorious! Frank Gehry's Torque Collection is easily one of the most unique and futuristic designs ever offered by the House of Tiffany. Gehry Torque rings are squared-off bands with a slight twist or torque to their shape. The Torque collection includes rings, bracelets, and pendants in yellow gold, white gold, and with or without diamonds.
While the Gehry Torque is his most iconic collection, Frank also released several other designs. His partnership with Tiffany resulted in six unique lines: Fish, Torque, Axis, Equus, Fold, and Orchid. Gehry was fascinated by fish forms, and this collection features pieces with fluid, undulating fish forms, including bracelets, pendants, rings, and earrings. Gehry Axis featured geometric shapes and designs that formed rectangular, open sections.
Frank's Equus collection consisted of squiggling, dangling lines, while his Orchid jewelry showcased twisted Orchid drops. Gehry's Fold collection utilized metal bars folded front and back. Gehry only made jewelry for a short period, which appeals to only a niche selection of buyers. Do you have a piece of Frank Gehry jewelry for sale? I would love to see it!
